The Cellex-C Corporation is the self-proclaimed “pioneer of vitamin C skin care technology.”
The company was actually started by a University of Wisconsin cell biologist in her kitchen, but the company has since grown to a multi-million dollar enterprise. However, it is still very important to the founder that her colleagues think of her as a serious scientist, and this has kept Cellex-C on the breaking edge of biology as well as skin care for more than 30 years.
Cellex-C Skin Firming Cream Plus uses a patented vitamin C complex to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by 84.2% according to company research and trials. It's intended to improve skin’s color, tone and texture to the point where a regular user will look five to ten years younger.
Furthermore, the company promises “dramatic, permanent results” with regular use because the cream actually affects the skin’s behavior, making it act – and therefore appear – more youthful.
According to the official website the cream does not produce sun sensitivity. It's intended for general use and for specific, topical application to problem areas.
Cellex-C Skin Firming Cream Plus is intended to be used for 8 to 12 weeks to accrue permanent results. You should apply it once every 24 hours after using a Hydra B-5 complex (also available from Cellex-C). Smooth it onto your neck, face and chest, and then apply sunscreen.
My Rating is: 3/5
Drawbacks:
The Cellex-C Skin Firming Cream Plus comes backed by a great deal of research. However, there are a few things that should make you think twice before using it.
- It is expensive and you have to use a lot of it for an extended period of time to get results.
- It is part of a much more extensive anti-aging routine. While some vendors sell it separately, the instructions for use require at least two other products.
- Some users find the cream too “smelly” to tolerate.
- Some people experience fairly serious allergic reactions.
Benefits:
- It was developed by a professional cell biologist for her own personal use. She did not originally intend to market the product on any scale at all. This implies that the original research and results were likely sound.
- The product promises permanent results, and clinical studies indicate this is possible with regular use.
- Vitamin C has been proven to help fight the signs of aging.
Price: $125.00 for 60 ml
Guarantee
- Cellex-C has no official guarantee, although the website does feature some striking “before and after” photos in which testers applied the treatments to only half their face. Some vendors do provide guarantees and refund opportunities, but you will need to verify this with the vendor before you buy.
My Review
Cellex-C Skin Firming Cream Plus is an appealing alternative to other more “glitzy” skin care and anti-aging regimens. Despite its high price, the research behind the cream appears quite solid and the fact that a noted researcher who has scholarly credibility outside of the cosmetics industry created the treatment makes it a fairly solid bet.
While the components of Patented Complex are not available to the public, the rest of the active ingredients appear solid. Chamomile, zinc and primrose oil all are commonly used to fight wrinkles with varying degrees of success depending on the patient and the degree and regularity of application. Furthermore, vitamin C is one of the most tested and reliable treatments for signs of aging on the market today.
Cellex-C Skin Firming Cream Plus users tend to experience softer skin, smaller pores and even color in as little as two weeks. However, you should be very careful to make sure that you can get a refund from your vendor. While many patients are devoted to the product, there is a small but significant number that suffer serious allergic reactions ranging from blackheads and a profusion of small red pimples to serious pain and burning that cannot be relieved but only endured until the treatment has worn off.
Since there appears to be no middle ground with this product, understand you're taking a risk if you buy it. If you're one of the many who experience really dramatic, permanent improvements to your skin, then the high price (and the questionable odor) is probably worth it. However, you should try it on a small patch of skin first to see how you react before covering your entire face, neck and chest with the treatment. If you have a bad experience, at least the damage will be limited and you will be able to try something else with your anti-aging budget.
