My Review

Dermalogica AGE Smart Super Rich Repair was designed for damaged and prematurely aging skin. As you can imagine, it is not the most lightweight and gentle of formulas. Instead, it is intended to tackle seriously dry and wrinkled skin. Personally, I consider my skin to be appropriately aged. Don't get me wrong — I have fine lines and wrinkles that I want to minimize. However, this cream was just a bit too heavy for me.

The product comes in a 1.7-ounce jar, which is small, but not as small as some other high-end wrinkle creams. As far as expensive creams go, this one is the least detrimental to your budget, which is a good thing. Another positive note is that the cream is free of fragrances and artificial dyes. I think this could greatly decrease your chances of having an adverse reaction.

My problem with this product, however, is the consistency of the cream. It is thick and heavy, intending to hydrate the most parched skin. I felt like I was wearing stage makeup when I applied it, as it did not lightly absorb into the skin like many moisturizers. I do not like this feeling at all. The package also warned that you should let the product fully absorb into the skin before applying anything else, such as makeup. This just wasn't a convenient product to me at all.

If you have severely dehydrated skin, then you may require something heavy-duty like this. I do think the product hydrated my skin, but I couldn't stand the Halloween mask sensation it gave me. As for the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, I didn't see anything immediate. It may have anti-aging benefits over long-term use, but I will not be continuing with the product.
