Lactic Acid 70% Gel Peel, 30ml (Professional) by Skin Laboratory

by Kim on December 8, 2008

Lactic Acid 70% Gel Peel, 30ml (Professional) by Skin Laboratory This intensive product can be used to tackle extensive sun damage and deep wrinkles. A chemical peel that is comparable to those administered by dermatologists, it helps to increase the skin's production of collagen. As a result, the skin will be more youthful and elastic.

My Rating is: 4/5

My Review

Chemical peels should not be considered lightly, as they are a very invasive way to treat your skin. If you are young and are only seeing the beginnings of fine lines, I wouldn't even bother with a product like Lactic Acid 70% Gel Peel. However, those of us who would like a serious improvement in our aging and/or skin-damaged skin might consider something like this. Of course, chemical peels have been popular at dermatologist offices and salons for years. However, they can be very expensive when administered by a professional. That is where something like this product comes in. It is gentle enough to be used once a week, yet strong enough to be considered a professional-grade chemical peel. I was very cautious when using Lactic Acid 70% Gel Peel, as there are plenty of warnings in the instructions. It should only be left on the face for one to three minutes, although I found my face feeling a bit crispy after just one minute, so don't be hesitant to wash it off a bit early. You don't want to scorch your skin with the chemicals, after all. As for the results, I was impressed with the quick improvement in my skin's tone. Not only did it instantly leave my skin brighter and more even, it helped to reduce the size of my pores. My "T zone" has always been an issue with occasional acne and I think Lactic Acid 70% Gel Peel has improved that area tremendously. Like I said before, this is not an endeavor for the faint of heart. A bit too much for a bit too long can seriously hurt your skin. Heed the instructions and be sure to take a break here and there. This is the opposite of a gentle, natural oatmeal mask. This is a harsh blend of chemicals that is only beneficial in small doses. With responsible use, however, I think it could be a great addition to anyone's skincare ritual.
